Loddon United Football Club 2018 / 19
The new season is almost upon us and what an exciting one it promises to be, the Management team and Committee at LUFC have been working tirelessly during the off-season resulting in some very exciting and positive changes.
Behind the scenes work, match day support and players commitment are all crucial elements to a successful football club, as is the help and kind support of local businesses. We would like to thank Musker McIntyre and Alan Cook Removals again for their continued support as we move into the second year of a 2 year sponsorship deal for the first and reserves teams respectively.
We would also like to thank and welcome Professional Electrical Services for supporting us this year by sponsoring our new training kit and to Mr Phillip Taylor of Loddon Kings Head who has paid for the hire of our facilities this season. This support is very much appreciated by all at the football club and helps secure our future ensuring that football stays in the village.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of Travis Manning as First XI Manager alongside his assistant Jake Sharpe. Travis and Jake have shown immense commitment from the moment they were appointed, working tirelessly to bring in players, old and new, re-signing much of last season’s squad but also adding to the numbers with new players. They have a great track record with local football, winning back to back promotions at their previous club and the enthusiasm they have shown has proven to be infectious, training has already commenced and it’s been a “test” for a few to say the least. They have used their reputation and connections to boost numbers, which has been lacking for a couple of seasons now. They have also lined up a challenging pre-season fixture list that will ensure the team are ready for the new season. Details of friendlies can be found at the bottom of this post.
We are also pleased to announce that Ryan Sadler is to continue as Manager of the Reserve XI for another season and welcome to Luke “Ed” Jermy who will be second in command. The Reserves had a great first season in the Lowestoft and District league last season so a great platform for the newly formed team to work from.
Travis and Jake have set high
standards from the start, and we as a committee firmly believe, with them running
the first team along with Ryan and Ed leading the reserves we are now in a
position to rebuild and bring success to the club as a whole, which includes a
return to senior football.
As always LUFC will be holding numerous fund raising events and games, more details of which will be posted in due course.
All that’s left for me to say is a massive THANK YOU to you.....our supporters, you have seen Loddon through the high times and the low times but in true local football spirit you remain with us, your continued support is forever appreciated. Please join us in welcoming all the new faces (and old) to LUFC and wishing them all the best for the season ahead, see you on the sidelines...

Loddon United Appoint First Team Management.
Loddon United FC would like to welcome two new members to the staff, Travis Manning & Jake Sharp who will be taking lead of the First XI.
"It's a pleasure for me to step into a first team role at Loddon United FC after two successful years as a reserves manager alongside my joint manager, Jake Sharpe.
It's certainly going to be a challenge but one that we will relish and give our absolute everything with the aim of getting this fantastic club back to where they should be.
We have held very positive discussions with members of the board who have ambitions that match our own.
We cannot wait to meet the players and get started with this exciting project."
Chairman Dave Matthews welcomes the new appointment with the following statement:
‘This is a great appointment, after a tough couple of seasons, I believe that Travis and Jake are the right people to rebuild and bring success to the club as a whole, including a return to senior football.
They have a good track record with back to back promotions and have good knowledge of local football. Their passion and enthusiasm is infectious and they are determined to succeed.
Welcome to Loddon Utd F.C.’
All of us here at LUFC would like to extend our warmest welcome to Travis and Jake and at the same time thank Chris and Cod for their hard work and commitment, it is truly appreciated.
